Local ingredients, seasonality and short supply chains. Each dish tells the story of the local area — it does not imitate it.

Not all of Venice moves at the pace of tourism.
There is a slower, truer and quieter Venice.
It is the Venice we try to preserve, every day, here in Castello.

How an osteria begins
San Isepo opened on 17 June 2024, in a campo in Castello that Venetians know well and tourists have yet to find. It was opened by a group of people with different stories — some born in Venice, others who chose it — united by one belief: that a true osteria is recognised by the way it treats people, even before what it serves. The idea was simple: to create a place where people eat well, drink well and feel at home. A place that respects the neighbourhood, its ingredients and the people who work there.

An osteria is more than a menu. It is the person who welcomes you when you walk in, the person who knows every wine by heart, and those who open in the morning and close at night.
Our team comes from different places and backgrounds, but shares the same approach: doing things properly, without shortcuts, with respect for the work and for our guests.
